It may be that you suffer from a recurring injury. This could well be down to your aligment, bone
structure or posture - which can alter your bodies movement patterns. Through a process of in-depth analysis we can ascertain
if these factors are the cause of an injury. This means that we can then come to an agreement on the type of treatment andrecommend
a program that doesnt simply make you better until the next time it happens, but is a permanent prevention from the problem.
By assessing the alignment and movement of a patient, the true cause of an injury can usually be
ascertained. For example, a frozen toe or injured ankle can often lead to both lower and upper pain yet the cause is often
missed by practicitioners. Individuals are mechanically assessed to see whether abnormal joint function or weak musculature
contributes to a pattern that makes you more prone to injury. Factors such as spinal symmetry, limb length and hip, knee and
foot function are carefully analysed. An assessment technique called Dynamic Movement Screening will be used in combination
with sophisticated gait analysis and hands on muscle length and tightness testing.
I believe in the theory of 'prehabilitation'. This is the age old theory that prevention is
better than cure. Through the assessment indicated earlier, it will be easy for me to establish weak and tight muscles within
your body. From this point on, specific exercises will target weak muscles, stretching and massage will alleviate tight muscles
and thus create symmetry within the body. Combining the above with dynamic core stabilizing exercises with help
prevent injuries whilst toning your whole body!!
